3 years ago today. 2 months into long covid. I was constantly short of breath, had chest tightness, heart palps, crushing fatigue that would come on after exertion. I had no clue what I was in for.

My dad is starting radiation treatment tomorrow. Although the scan last summer showed no signs of lung cancer (after chemo & lots of RSO), cancer was recently found in a lymph node. We are grateful for all the support he’s received, & hopeful he will soon be in full remission. 🙏

It breaks my heart every time someone develops Long Covid in 2026 thinking that it's over, or worse that it's not over but that it wouldn't happen to them.

It’s International Long Covid Awareness Day. One of the best things you can do to support people with Long Covid is wear a mask (ideally a respirator like an N95). Masks break chains of transmission. They prevent infection. The only way to avoid Long Covid is to avoid Covid!

People are developing Long Covid after their third, fourth, fifth, etc infection. It’s still circulating, still disabling and, in some cases still deadly. You’ve gotta ask yourself what your ‘lucky’ number is going to be.

Before catching Covid in late October 2020, I could walk on my hands for over 20 seconds. Now, I have to limit how much I walk on my feet. Let’s dismantle the myth that healthy people can’t become chronically ill with Long Covid. I’m among many who have. #LongCovidAwarenessDay

Advocating for long covid without advocating for prevention, is like trying to bail out water from a boat that's sitting on the ocean floor. The two things can't be separated and I don't trust or respect anyone who thinks they can. #LongCovidAwarenessDay

Almost 6 years ago I caught COVID. I have spent the last half of my twenties bedbound. I need a wheelchair for occasional Dr appointments. My doctors have told me my quality of life is similar to that of an end stage cancer patient. We need treatments. #LongCovidAwarenessDay

Today is #LongCovidAwarenessDay. It's a disgrace that it's been 6 years and we're no closer to a cure for #LongCOVID. It's been 62 months and 10 days since I stepped foot in my classroom. I miss my students (my babies) 😢. Today, I allow myself to grieve the old me.

@BJEWB Have you looked into Ivabradine? It’s not a cure, but it’s been helpful for me, and can lower HR without lowering blood pressure.

Looking like I may have to switch my bb. It’s keeping my hr down but causing chest pressure/tightness that won’t go away with antihistamine/famotidine. Ugh

This morning: full page ad in @Haaretz by @PeacePartners24 signed by 58 Israeli and Palestinian human rights and peace organizations titled "Stop The War". "This war too will not bring us security. We, the organizations of the “Peace Partnership,” call for an immediate end to the war. This is a war of choice that endangers us all. Our government chooses again and again endless war that causes loss of human life, destruction, and pain with no future and no political solutions. Only eight months ago they declared that the “Iranian threat” had been eliminated for generations. They lied to us then, and they are lying to us now. This attack and the crimes against the Palestinian people that continue under its cover will not bring security. In Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine there are frightened parents and children who only want to live. Only a joint struggle for a just peace, based on the rights of peoples, can bring real security to all the inhabitants of the region."

On another war with Iran

spoke up about long covid awareness month onstage today before my poetry reading for a lit mag i got published in. my first time speaking on it aloud i expected discomfort & hostility, but tbh the audience was incredibly warm & receptive and many thanked me afterwards 🙂‍↕️
