The Story of Creating the Legendary IRYS Mural
🟢The Beginning
Early August.
I’m just sitting there, scrolling through my feed, when suddenly a thought pops into my head:
"What if I add a bit of my graffiti style to the game @IrysRealms?
You know, sprites, Irys, that cool and vibey atmosphere…"
I decided to leave a comment under @Dantashi_ post — just for luck.
And then, boom! — August 7th — I get a message from him.
He says he likes my idea.
I’m thinking:
"Wow! Maybe they’ll let me add a small drawing somewhere in the corner of the game…"
But no.
He suggests I create the main mural — right at the entrance to a building.
On a huge wall.
At that moment, in my head, I heard a loud:
"PU-PU-PU!" 🎺
I froze for a few seconds.
The scale of this project was insane — and I had zero experience working on anything like this in Web3.
Honestly, I didn’t even have a clear idea yet.
But, as they say, every big journey begins with a small step — an idea.
I made a post asking the community:
"What does IRYS mean to you?"
Dantashi helped spread it around, and within a few days,
the first images and concepts started forming in my mind.
🟢First Sketches and a Wall Surprise
I bought a huge sheet of paper, pinned it to my wall at home, and started sketching with a pencil.
Everything was going smoothly — until I found out that the real wall had completely different proportions than I had imagined. 😅
It turned out to be very long, but not very tall.
Well… it happens.
My first concept was very cinematic — like a real movie scene.
But I decided to save it for later and instead create something more dynamic and fun,
based on ideas from the community.
We divided the mural into three main sections, each telling part of a connected story.
🟢The Left Section
A wall covered with @irys_xyz graffiti and everything connected to the project:
sprites, Irys, Hirys, speed, growth, kindness — everything that forms the core of the project.
🟢The Right Section
Here you’ll find SPRITE, the mascot holding a giant paint roller,
symbolizing the creativity and talent of the community.
There’s also #IrysCafe — the place where Dantashi and I first discussed the mural idea.
And, of course, @xaitoshi_, who’s always with his laptop, searching for top developers within the community.
🟢The Center — The Heart of the Mural
At the very center is the main scene: a train and a truck emerging from the city through a massive archway.
They symbolize the data that is uploaded, stored, and used within IRYS.
The city itself is hidden behind a tall wall that stretches across the entire mural.
The top of this wall is lined with metal grates, resembling a fortress.
This represents security and protection, emphasizing that all data in IRYS is kept safe.
🟢A Month and a Half of Work, Fails, and the Final Push
The entire project took one and a half months to complete.
There were technical fails with the dimensions (one day, I’ll make a meme about it 😂),
and personal delays — but we didn’t stop and kept pushing forward.
On September 21st, I sent Dantashi the nearly finished work.
We had already revised it several times, so I just sat there, praying
that this time everything would fit perfectly on the wall.
And then… YES! 🎉
Everything looked sharp, and almost nothing needed to be changed.
I polished the art to perfection, and Dantashi even built an entire park around it.
Finally, on September 25th, we officially revealed our creation to the world.
🟢The Finale: A Dream on the Blockchain
This journey was absolutely incredible.
I had long dreamed of creating something epic in the world of blockchain,
and now that dream came true.
I am deeply grateful to Dantashi, who believed in me and gave me this opportunity.
And to the IRYS community and project, who inspired me to bring this mural to life.
Now, when I see it in the game, I know for sure —
we’ve created something truly unique.
And this is only the beginning. 🚀
