I'd say in this era, if 65% of your tokens are being spent on new features, 35% definitely need to be spent on standardising and documentation. I now have automated skills that keep my READMEs up to date and agent experts that flag convention aberrants.

In a standardised convention codebase, almost every complex feature turns into a CRUD-level complexity task for AI. It knows exactly where to put each component because that part of thought has already been established by the codebase.

One of the best learnings I've had recently about working with AI is that, at its core, it is fundamentally a pattern recogniser. If you standardise your codebase conventions, clean it up the best you can, LLM output improves DRASTICALLY. 🧵
