CONFESSION: “I Thought Marrying Outside My Tribe Would Save Me… But Pain Has No Tribe” 💔😂
If only that lady (the one that married a munyankore man) knew… it rains in every tribe.
The way she described her husband is exactly the man I married — a Japadhola man. Before people attack me, this is not about tribe-shaming because truth be told, every tribe has good and bad people. But ehhh… the shock life gave me needs a support group 😭😂
I left our western men thinking the eastern products were more romantic, softer, more emotionally mature. My friends used to hype me saying, “Those eastern men know how to love.” Kaiii, kumbe I crossed regions only to meet the same silence wearing a different surname.
No birthdays.
No surprises.
No flowers.
No “how was your day?”
Valentine’s passes like it’s a public holiday for electricity bills.
You can literally stay in the same house with this man and feel single.
The emotional absence is what kills slowly. You start questioning yourself… “Am I hard to love? Am I asking for too much?” Yet all you wanted was affection, attention, softness, partnership. Small things.
And the painful part is realizing you wasted years expecting an adult to suddenly become emotionally expressive when that’s not even who they are.
One day I looked at myself and said, “Woman, if you don’t save your own happiness, you will spend another 14 years mourning things that may never come.”
That was the beginning of my healing.
I stopped sitting around waiting for a man to validate my existence. I surrounded myself with friends who celebrate me. I started buying myself gifts. I started laughing again. I started living.
Because sometimes marriage can make you emotionally homeless while still legally occupied.
And as for the children? That responsibility is now mine too. I must teach them kindness, affection, communication and love so they don’t grow up thinking emotional neglect is normal marriage behavior.
Ladies, please hear me clearly:
Do not build your entire happiness around one emotionally unavailable human being. You will dry up spiritually.
Find joy outside the marriage too.
Heal.
Laugh.
Travel.
Make friends.
Create memories.
Love yourself loudly.
Because pain has no tribe.
And healing also has no tribe. ❤️

The Ultimate Test of "For Better or Worse": A Story of True Love, Tragedy, and Resilience.
We have all heard the traditional wedding vows: “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.” For most couples, these words are a beautiful formality spoken on a day filled with cake, laughter, and celebration. But true love isn't tested when things are going well. True love is tested when the worst-case scenario actually happens.
Look closely at these two images. On the left, you see a picture-perfect moment of pure joy. A radiant bride, wrapped safely in the arms of her handsome groom. His smile is wide, filled with the pride of a man who has just married the love of his life. They look unstoppable. They look like they have the whole world ahead of them. But life can change in a single, devastating heartbeat.
On the right, we see that same man today. The smile is still there, the strength is still there, and his voice is being amplified through a microphone to share his journey with the world. But his physical appearance has been forever altered by an unimaginable tragedy. Surviving severe trauma or burns doesn't just change your body; it changes how the world looks at you, and it forces a relationship into the ultimate crucible.
When a partner undergoes a catastrophic physical transformation, the world watches to see what happens next. Tragically, we live in a society where many people walk away when the "for worse" part of the vows kicks in. It takes a rare, deeply rooted kind of devotion to look past the scars, past the pain, and see the exact same soul you fell in love with on your wedding day.
This story is a powerful reminder that true beauty is not skin-deep. Intimacy isn't just about physical attraction; it’s about emotional safety, shared history, and an unbreakable bond. The woman who stood by this man through his darkest hours, and the man who found the strength to smile and keep speaking his truth into a microphone, represent the pinnacle of human resilience and partnership.
In a world filled with shallow relationships and disposable love, stories like this are desperately needed. They remind us of what marriage actually means. It’s not just a contract for the good times—it’s a lifelong pact to be the anchor when the storm hits.
💬 Let’s Talk About It:
This story opens up a profound question about modern relationships.
• Ladies: If your partner faced a life-altering tragedy that completely changed his appearance, do you believe your bond is strong enough to weather the storm?
• Fellas: What does true resilience in a marriage look like to you?
