Google just dropped a free, offline, multilingual AI model. Here's how to use Gemma 4 today: 1. Grab the model: Head to ai .google .dev/gemma/ and choose your size (from phone to server). It's Apache 2.0 licensed, so commercial use is fine. 2. Set up your environment: Gemma 4 runs on TensorFlow, PyTorch, and JAX. Install your preferred framework. Example (PyTorch): `pip install torch` 3. Download weights: You'll need to request access and download the weights. Follow the instructions on the Google AI site. They provide scripts for easy download. 4. Load the model: Use the framework-specific code to load the weights. Google provides example code snippets in Python. 5. Inference: Pass your input (text, image, etc.) to the model. Gemma 4 handles 140+ languages and even multimodal prompts. 6. Run offline: Because it's designed for on-device, you don't need an internet connection. No data leaves your machine. 7. Experiment: Try different prompts, languages, and modalities.
