1HM are loving life with of 10 minute art. Today we did 'Loud Art', we danced and painted to some fantastic tunes. #beckart

This week we have been reading Aliens Love Underpants. We have looked at the vocabulary used, designed our own Aliens and tomorrow we will be doing fantastic writing about them. #beckenglish

We have learnt the 7 continents today. We can now name them.

We have got really speedy at our doubles in our maths fluency session. #beckmaths

We had a lovely time exploring maps. We can now find the British Isles on a world map.

Year 1 are ready to have an afternoon of Geography. We are going to be exploring maps, atlases and learning how to use a globe. #beckgeography

We have had a messy but great Art lesson today. This term we are exploring printing. #beckart

Year 1 would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

What a better way to end the long term. We made Christmas decorations in the morning and finished the day with a hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows while we listened to the story of Santa is Coming to Sheffield.

We have had a very festive week. On Wednesday Year 1 had a big Christmas party. We played games and sung festive songs, we finished the day with a dance. Santa even came to visit. How lucky are we?!

This week In computing we have been learning how to use painting tools. We created our own art and then duplicated it on a computer.

We have been enjoying science lessons. We have been investigating what materials light shines through. #beckscience

Look at this amazing math. The children had to order numbers 1-30 on a number line. They then had the challenge to keep going. They all got to 100.

All I want for Christmas is capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in year 1 writing. I think I will be lucky and get this from these brilliant writers. We have done some amazing writing today. We are having a Christmas themed writing week .
