These systems are being introduced gradually, quietly, and in more discreet ways. In its own consultation - “Making public services work for you with your digital identity” - the government explored expanding digital ID so it could be used to access services, verify identity online, and link different parts of your life through a single digital system. Now it’s time to really push back. The momentum is building, more people are waking up to what Digital ID really means, and the public conversation is growing louder. History shows that systems like this rarely stay “optional.” Once the infrastructure exists, it becomes easier and easier to make it mandatory for everyday life — whether that’s accessing services, travelling, banking, or proving who you are. This isn’t about left or right politics. It’s about protecting our privacy, our civil liberties, and the freedom to live without being tracked, scored, or digitally monitored by the state. When people stand together, governments have to listen. The streets are where ordinary people remind those in power that authority comes from the public. Let’s flood the streets again.
