@mrkite9999 @DukeEchoes This book also taught me a lot about things I didn’t know before. The coach isn’t as serious as I once thought — the fact that he swears is really surprising, and kind of adorable.lol

@Yellowlight0904 @DukeEchoes Thanks, I never knew this story. I still remember meeting Coach K when Butters was touring him in front of Cameron Indoor on what must have been his third visits.

Coach K shares what it felt like arriving on the Duke campus for the first time:
“I came to Duke for an interview and when I walked around Duke on my own, I still get chills thinking about it because I love Duke. I said, ‘this is a special place.’ One of the things I love about Duke is its uniqueness. We have not tried to be like anybody and so we’re always becoming who we are. If you’re trying to be like somebody, you forget about who you are… I hope we always maintain that. I think we’re the best university in the world, but I also think we are the most unique.”
Duke, the best of both worlds. 📚🏀

@Sports_Kings_ I wish the people who believe Scheyer will go to the Bulls could fight those who think Scheyer is nothing—then they wouldn't talk so much.

Fans from other fanbases wish that he would leave... Keep wishing, and spreading false narratives, it's NOT happening! Scheyer 🔵👿 ➡️ Bulls 🐂 ➡️ 0%

YES THE CHICAGO BULLS want Jon Scheyer.. So what? I want Elon Musk type money. Maybe 30 years from now I'm rich & Scheyer's a Bull. His reps aren't even fielding calls for potential coaching vacancies. He's Duke for life. I made several calls & I know this rumor is 100% Bull****

In an interview last year at Belmont, Duke commit Drew Scharnowski was asked what fuels him as a player:
“I want what’s best for the team, best for my teammates. At the end of the day I know I love basketball. I love being on the court and I want to make the most out of this time. At the end of the day, I’m super competitive. I want to win…. It’s walking away and knowing you competed to the best of your ability and did all you could do with people who are literally like your brothers… I care about them. I love them.”
Sounds like he’ll fit in just fine at Duke. Can’t wait to see this beast play! 😈

What Evan Bradds took away from his one year as an assistant coach at Duke under Coach Scheyer:
“His overall preparedness for every single game was extremely impressive to me. It was almost like no stone left unturned. Just his overall competitive mindset, you see why he was such a good player and now that he’s transitioned to being the head coach at Duke, you see why he’s successful… It’s something I’ll never forget.”
As a Duke fan, it’s nice to know that’s the standard behind Duke bball. No shortcuts, just real work every day.

@NationMffl Could you please take a clear photo of the paper listing the coop grades?

Can’t thank the Dallas Mavericks enough for this awesome Cooper Flagg “Ain’t No Pressure” package for his Rookie of the Year campaign.
MFFL’s are blessed to be able to root for a guy like Coop.
Itching for the league to announce he won the ROTY award 💙

Coach Scheyer on balancing loyalty to players and the team:
“Every decision you make throughout the course of a game, practice, playing time, you make decisions where you disappoint people. It comes with the territory. You can’t make everybody happy at once with the decisions that you make so your loyalty is to each of your players, but your ultimate loyalty is also to the team. When you reconcile with that you make the decisions obviously wanting what’s best for each of our guys and it’s fair. But it’s also make decisions based on the loyalty to the team.”
Amazing quote here. At the end of the day, it’s about doing what’s best for the team, even when it’s not the easiest or most popular decision.
In Scheyer I trust ALWAYS.😈
