Um, whoa? If the court just accepts this logic than the March hotel-tax increase also could be accepted as successful (though there are other legal hangups, I think).

CA Supreme Court just denied review in SF Prop. C case which held that Constitutional provision requiring 2/3's vote to approve special taxes did not apply to *citizens' initiatives* -- meaning only majority vote needed to raise special taxes by initiative. (51 Cal. App. 5th 703)
