@LucasPacioli1 @KristenKeogh Not all Flagstaff locals...........Anyways, people can protest all they want. Snowbowl's expansion only needs approval from US Forest Service, which they usually get. Have a look at their 20-year plan that was recently adopted.

Last week Snowbowl charged $309 for a single day lift ticket.
As a hiker, I always believed the outdoors were accessible because trails are mostly free or cost a small entry fee.
Snow sports showed me how wrong I was.
How do we make skiing and snowboarding more accessible?

@yevy @Sdsu94Ski @LaurenCBS4 @KristenKeogh This. It also should be said if you bought your tickets in advance, you likely paid $109. The pricing surge isn’t only a function of revenue, but is also there to keep crowds manageable, otherwise it’s so overcrowded it’s an awful experience for everyone.

@ColtonKrolak @KristenKeogh The rates go up based on demand. When demand is high, the price goes up. Demand is high right now because of great snow conditions and because Jan -Feb are traditionally the peak ski months for almost every ski area in USA.

@KristenKeogh That’s far from the norm. Almost every time I’ve ever gone to Snowbowl, it’s been less that $100 for a ski lift ticket. They jacked up the rates due to the influx of people and great snow conditions I believe

@Sdsu94Ski @Tony_Alonzo @LaurenCBS4 @KristenKeogh This is based on demand. If I want to ski at Snowbowl on Feb. 8th, I can buy a ticket today for $47. The price for Vail on the same day is currently $208. There are over 5 million people within 3 hours of Snowbowl.

@KristenKeogh As long as you’re on forest land no. This would be a better question for a lawyer but ex with snowbowl, they can charge you for lift tickets and use of lifts however if you were to hike to the top of a trail, technically you should be able to use the run.

@sethgunnar @KristenKeogh Sorry Seth, but that would be considered trespassing, which is illegal. And very Dangerous. Snowbowl operates through a lease agreement with the Coconino National Forest and has a defined ski area boundary.
