Call me dumb. Call me an idiot. But I think Henry Davis is going to have a much improved season in 2026:
.240
12 home runs
50 RBIs
A big step in the right direction for the 2021 No. 1 pick
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Nah I’ll own up to it. I wanna see Hank succeed in the league. I’ve been wrong about the Pirates a lot but also right as well. I was wrong about the buccos 2 years ago and made myself a friend through it in @Alldayrayray1 he knows I’ll own up to me being wrong
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Didn’t know you made the league bub, Congrats. Skenes pitching left handed is the same as Henry changing his approach and swing? You talk about being obtuse? That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever seen.
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg If Skenes were to make an adjustment, and that adjustment was to throw left handed, would you still be saying “time will tell”? This is so ridiculous. Again, I have eyeballs. I know and played a significant amount of baseball. His swing AND APPROACH remain broken.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Your whole argument is pretending to not understand what I’m saying. You literally have zero idea if the adjustments will give results literally zero idea, you’re not in the meetings, you’re not at the practices, again time will tell.
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Who said give up? Now you’re just pretending not to understand what I’m saying. My whole point is that the adjustments weren’t enough and the results will bear that out if additional work doesn’t happen. This isn’t a conversation if I thought the guy just lacked talent.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg So I’m guessing the nationals should give up on Dylan Crews, another college player that raked based on your logic
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Again, he went 1.1 because of his hitting abilities, he raked in college .372 .370 ba, he and the organization knew he had to change his approach which again they worked on, you are failing to give him a chance.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Again, for like the 6th time, They worked with him this offseason to fix his approach, there’s documentation you can look up about how they went about it with people in and out of the organization. You are failing to give him a chance to see if it works.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg He was 1.1 for 2 reasons, his batting and we could underslot him. He became one of the best defensive catchers in the league, he has probably the greatest work ethic on the team. You can just say you hate the man and don’t want to give him a chance.
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg You don’t need “time” to tell that a carpenter won’t be able to pound in a nail with a pillow. If you don’t have the baseball knowledge to see what I’m telling you, that’s fine. Just don’t make new excuses when the results are exactly as I’m telling you they will be.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Reality isn’t being ignored, I have not said he’s a good hitter I kept reiterating that time will tell. He had a team of literal professionals inside and outside of the org working with him on revamping his whole approach but I guess someone on twitter knows better than them
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg I was at multiple games, as you can see he progressed throughout spring training. Again, time will tell if it worked or not.
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg No, we do disagree. He made minor adjustments to his existing swing. He needs to start from scratch. And his APPROACH clearly remains the same — hence why he can’t hit anything in the outside half of the plate. I just watched him for a month in spring training. Did you not?
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg I’m not disagreeing with you, what you are failing to acknowledge is he did change his whole mechanics this offseason, it’s gonna take time to see if it works or not. He’s 1-2 so far today with a rbi double and making contact on his out.
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg It doesn’t take a guru lol. It’s a broken swing and APPROACH — there is a difference. You keep ignoring that.
When he’s hitting sub .200 at the all star break with zero hard hits to the right side of the field, I assume you’ll come back here and apologize?
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Bub doesn’t need time to tell what the results will be with a complete revamp of mechanics. This guy must be a baseball guru
@YinzerAnonymous@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg His approach and swing are an absolute abomination. I don’t need time to tell what the result will be. Maybe you do, and that’s fine. Bub.
@checkingTSLA@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Also, you literally just tweeted he needs to rework his mechanics (which he did this offseason) and all I said was time will tell if it works. So I’m very confused as to where your stance is
@AustinRBechtold@Bovadawg Don’t mean to be rude, but it’s clear to anyone that played baseball beyond high school that this guy isn’t going to have any success until his swing and plate approach are completely overhauled. It’s unbelievable that it persists year after year. He has no chance.
