Received the Monitor earlier, already feel more at home, more comfortable consuming media, art. Rewatching Kizumonagatari right now.

Thankfully, thoughever, wrongs have been corrected and I will finally obtain a PC in a few days, a Herculean victory.

@evilchuuni This. Exactly this. An entire world unlocked. A decade plus of observation and petty compromises thrown to the wayside.

@NordicIago I do this too. This was my most prominent cope for not having a PC (still is). A more recent variant is now letting CK3 run in the background on my console on observer mode. I have 1913 hours in this game in about 6 months of ownership.

@evilchuuni Thank you. I've longed for it for so long, literally since I was a child, that I feel a great sense of joy in knowing.
English

@YoImOrbit Yeah I was gonna mention emulation as well. Having a more powerful PC is great for that. If this is your first PC, enjoy. It definitely gives a certain sense of freedom.
English

@evilchuuni There's obviously more, and I plan on exploring and perhaps emulating, but the PC ownership itself is the real prize. I plan to be much more diligent in my media consumption, as well as I plan on reading Visual Novels, obviously .
English

@evilchuuni Yes, mostly Map Games, (EU4, EU5, CK2, CK3, VIC2, VIC3), but also Minecraft are the games that immediately come to mind. For reference, these are the specs, (AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX 3.6GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7; 16GB DDR5-5600 RAM; 1TB Solid State Drive).

@patria_ultio Though that was a defining experience for me. Tinkering with the game files and mods (I'm a mere novice, so changing a few defines and history files at most, maybe a localization or two) for CK2, Victoria 2, and even dabbling in HOI4 (RT56) was definitely something I'll remember.
English

@patria_ultio I recall doing that a while ago (now that the thought has been invoked, it's been 3-4 years) even with CK2. Thoughever, 𝘮𝘺 shitty laptop doesn't have the space anymore for HOI4.
