It's funny seeing so many initial impressions with Crimson Desert line up with what my early hands on initial impressions were. - "Enemies felt too easy / paper thin." This is true initially but will change soon enough. Mobs do become tougher, and just wait until you start encountering some of the bosses outside of the first knight. I think the mobs being generally easier to slaughter though works in the games favor as when you get better at controlling Kliff & get more skills, the power fantasy can be quite fun. - "Controls are clunky / hard to use". Yup... & while that doesn't change, you as a player will change. Overtime you will get way better at using them. I'm at a point now where I actually like many of the controls, with the exception of a few basic things such as picking up items & navigating the UI being way too cumbersom. With that said, I only use controller. - "Puzzles are too confusing and not explained well enough." I do agree that at some points the game could have better onboarding processes, with that said this is mostly an early game issue when you don't really understand Kliff's skills, how the environments work & what you truly have at your disposal. - "Story and quest design sucks." Mostly agree and it's a valid criticism. With that said most reviews have made it clear that this is more of a gameplay & systems focused game. Coming into it expecting an RPG like the Witcher 3 is not a good idea. So yeah it makes sense to me why initial impressions seem to be all over the place. In my review I even stated that there would be a ton of negative comments on steam. You were warned by many of us... but not everyone chooses to listen 🤣 With all that said, if you're not completely against giving the game a bit more time than just a few hours, man... some of the open- world elements here & gameplay mechanics that you will discover are incredible & unlike anything else out there. VERY much enjoying this game & I hope more players are able to get over that initial push! If not... all good. Not all games are made for everyone. #CrimsonDesert
