Honestly though headcanons don't really bother me generally but the amount of Americans does kinda create a sense of "default" perception.

But the realistic style was partially blamable since it went hand-in-hand with the decision to completely overlook gag & romcom stuff among other series I'd say.

@gapsyoniix It's kind of a Flygon situation, no? Goodra isn't necessarily very slug-like in itself, but its pre-evolutions are, & the Hisuian variant obviously has snail inspiration. Add on that France has a snail-like beast in some folklore & I feel it makes enough sense.

@fambramb I think it can be easy to overlook Aqua with how many people latch on to Seth online, but I think it's just that Seth is a more "kinnable" character while Aqua is a scrimblo that tons of people love, sometimes more silently. She does shenanigans & is silly which lots adore.

@TGirlie101 @Ariee____ I also feel it's part of why Moko & Takemaru kinda suffer writing-wise. They're leader-y characters, but Takumi kinda usurps that role so they get kinda awkwardly placed on the side in most routes. They both lead stuff in the routes where they actually get more focus (Rom & KG).

@TGirlie101 @Ariee____ Personally I always interpreted Moko as the leader of 2LDA. She's an emotional centerpiece & a big part of why they were so close so early on. She also works well to contrast Takemaru & Hiruko to create a trio with very different leadership styles from one another (also tall).

That said though VTuber influences aren't too unlikely even if I believe she's intended to be more retro.

@DetectivEsse @dragonborntacoz While I won't necessarily disagree, Flint is the first E4 to really have any story relevance in the franchise & actually shows up more directly than Malva. The others on both sides don't really do anything at all though even if I like them.
