Excited to see this out! The adapted #OpenFlexure Microscope for affordable live-cell imaging is a game-changer for labs in resource-limited settings. At @BioRTCNig, we plan to incorporate this system into our live-cell imaging workflows, especially for iPSC-based neurodegeneration models. Having a locally maintainable, UPS-supported solution is critical in settings where power instability and infrastructure gaps have limited real-time cellular imaging. Innovations like this expand what’s possible and will benefit many research teams across LMICs. Big congratulations to @YorkBioimaging and team. Thanks to @wellcometrust for funding

Why is live-cell imaging not common place? How many competent systems are available outside well funded labs? Our LCI-OFM will help support the development and wider adoption of live cell imaging across LMICs, and open up live-cell imaging for project students across the world.

Unleashing live-cell imaging for the masses! This is MEGA-exciting!!! Adapting the OpenFlexure Microscope for Affordable Live-Cell Imaging biorxiv.org/content/10.648… This can fit into existing incubators and capture time-lapse experiments and feeds into existing bioimaging analysis pipelines.
