You can find love in unusual places like our outstanding volunteers, Kathy and Angela! They found true love after meeting through MADD Canada and under heartbreaking circumstances. Angela was representing the Barrie/Simcoe chapter while supporting Kathy’s family through the court process when her niece had been killed by an impaired driver. What started as an amazing friendship became a wonderful relationship that led to marriage on January 16, 2016. A silver lining to a very sad and tragic time. Thank you for everything you do for MADD Canada. We are so happy to have played a small part in your love story 💕

As we approach Valentine’s Day, we have a heartwarming story to share about two of our wonderful volunteers Anissa and John 💕
They met at a MADD Halifax Chapter meeting. John was replacing another Halifax Regional Police officer as the police liaison for the Chapter.
A couple of years later, they had built a strong friendship and eventually started dating.
They were married in 2017 ❤️
This photo was taken at a MADD Leadership conference when John received the Victims Services Volunteer of the year award.

We are proud to partner with @SmartStartCanada the leader in ignition interlock devices (IIDs). This technology is proven and effective in preventing individuals from driving while impaired. If someone blows into the device and they’re above the legal limit, the car won’t operate. We recently presented the Smart Start Canada team with an appreciation award and we look forward to continuing to work together to make our roads safer!
