Proud Yorkshireman, lover of @YorkshireTea, proper Coronation Street nerd. Cat Dad to Tigger. I was the quiet loner in the corner of the playground at school.

@G571O Sugar soap and Elbow Grease (a real product) would be handy for these jobs.

Back then, only the driver died. Nowadays, the entire coach would erupt in a fireball, killing everyone on board.

Coronation Street - written by H.V. Kershaw (29th October 1969). Tragedy strikes ...

@ChrisAnstey74 Loved some of her scenes after moving into No 13 with her “pudding” Jerry. One in 1964, where Jerry discovers how much debt she has built up is true Street stuff.

@daveainsworth63 The finest Siegfried Farnon and a great man. My late godmother worked with him when she was in All Creatures. Sorry @exitthelemming ! But you come a very close second!

Remembering the great actor Robert Hardy who was born on this day in Cheltenham in 1925. #RobertHardy #Cheltenham

@ChrisAnstey74 And she had the nerve to try and beat my godmum in the pram race by cheating. In Freda Loftus’s own words onscreen “you’ll be lucky”!!!

@ChrisAnstey74 @bernieDbolt How have I watched this music video so many times, and not realised Cheryl Murray was in it!!
English

@ChrisAnstey74 Are these episodes on YouTube Chris? I vaguely remember the killer virus but would like to watch again.

@G571O A slow cooker is a godsend when you live alone. I live in my family council house, 40 years ago, it was home to 5 of us, now just me and I own it outright (life insurance payout due to serious ill health claim). Just save up and buy bits when you can.

@RobDCSoaps Nurofen or co-codamol should help Rob, and rest it!

@RobDCSoaps I was working at ASDA House at the time. It went and was replaced by John Lewis.

@RobDCSoaps Great drama so far. I remember when they demolished Millgarth police station in 2014, they struggled because it all had to be reinforced during the Ripper enquiry due to the amount of paperwork (they thought the floors would collapse). Never forgotten round here.
English

@RobDCSoaps Both my late mum & godmum were nurses working in Leeds around that time. Apparantly Mum was on duty when they brought in one of his survivors. A scary time for every woman in Yorkshire.

@MrNickRobinson You were just outstanding Nick. It remains a lovely little film.

@WEATHERFIELDM10 OK, what in the name of Bert “you know what I mean” Tilsley is this photo doing being taken inside No 5? Shouldn’t it be 37 Hillside Crescent?
English

@ChrisAnstey74 If I am right, isn’t Liz living with him at present? Mind, she probably has her own villa.
English

@kaospheric @Broomy17745619 @ChrisAnstey74 She had a nervous breakdown due to the fame she received. Following her death, her body lay undiscovered for some weeks.
English

@Broomy17745619 @ChrisAnstey74 "After leaving Coronation Street, Louise Duprey withdrew from the limelight, moving back to her native Liverpool and became increasingly reclusive. In February 2000, aged 42, she was found dead. The cause of death was established to be a drug overdose."

I like to think when Bill arrives at the gate of St Peter, Betty is there to welcome him with a “hello duck” and a hug.
