@CerberosVA I heavily rely on SNAP benefits since I'm disabled. Part of that disability makes it hard for me to sit up for a while, so frozen meals and snacks are the best I can manage sometimes. I can cook but on bad days I just need something easy that has calories.

Hey so I actually work at an emergency center for people that are about to be evicted, need food, in some financial emergency etc. Sometimes the people that come to us have no fridges or anywhere to cook because their util has been turned off, so preserved goods and snacks like this are actually more valuable to donation centers than fresh food. They also have to be working to receive financial aid, and many of these people come in because of something they could not control. A medical bill, a recent disability, their family member losing their job, a flood, their car breaking down, etc. I sit in interviews with these people to process their application for assistance. SNAP also covers replacing their food when damaged in a weather emergency from floods or power outtages, it’s not “welfare queens’ and that term is so misogynistic?
