They simply do not lose that game if normal lineups are played. As bad as Brunson was. As many mistakes as they made. You guys KNOW how hesitant I am to blame the coach. That was absolutely inexplicable. And then to DOUBLE DOWN in the 2H. Really disgraceful stuff. I’m sorry.

The Knicks did NOT have a timeout left
NBA teams are allowed a maximum of two timeouts in the final 3 minutes of the 4th quarter.
Knicks used a timeout with 2:43 left in the 4Q and 0:10 left in the 4Q (to set up the Brunson 3PT)

@NekiasNBA The league should do something about it by removing the play in from the liminal space they are in and counting those stats as postseason stats then. If they refuse to do that and make people vote after the play in games it makes sense people take it into consideration

like, I am generally a "head-to-head doesn't really matter to me when we have such a large sample" guy. i know i'm in the minority on that, but that's a matter of preference.
the play-in games *literally* do not count towards this. that is not a value judgment. it is a *fact*.
