I’ve been saying it for a while, but the Clark experiment is worse than it looks. Because we’ve beaten a lot of really bad teams, hes managed to get some easy wins, which distracts the shit out of a lot of you so you can’t see how bad he really is. Let’s look at the data (thread)

@jerry41413871 No shit. Hence my use of past tense here. He’s don’t great things and that has garnered a lot of trust, but that doesn’t give him impunity to make shit decisions now. No matter how much good he’s done, it doesn’t negate the damage he’s allowed Clark to do. They’re not exclusive.

@DTNutt What’s the worst than can happen, we piss away easy games and sit at home in December? We can do that with or without Clark. It’s Gillin’s fault for not firing him last year. But, a huge majority of our fan base are masochists who can’t read stats.

@SneakyPeet69 If you go back to last year, we won just one single game against a winning opponent, and we only did that with a once-in-a-lifetime tipped Hail Mary. Otherwise, we'd have gone 0-5 against winning opponents. But, go on, tell me how it's all about one fluke blocked kick.

@SneakyPeet69 John, I don’t know if you know this or not, but last night wasn’t the only Shawn Clark game, and this isn’t his only season. See, in his career as HC, Shawn Clark is just .421 against teams with a winning record. 17 of his 25 wins (68%) are against sub .500 teams.

Me thinking back on the days when I trusted Doug Gillin to make a good personnel decision.

I get that a lot of you love Clark because he’s a nice guy and an App State superfan, but stop thinking with your heart and think with your head. These are objective numbers. This isn’t my opinion. The data bears that Clark is not up to snuff. There’s nothing else to be said.

It’s even worse when you consider Clark‘s lifetime record of .657 is lower than all three guys behind him: Drink at .928, Satt at .684, and Moore at .712. He’s underperformed compared to everyone before him, and he’s gotten worse each year.
