Council members say the LGBTQIA+ community is paying a "devastating price" due to their bathhouses "having been targeted by criminalization and policing." Activists say the "clubs" need to come back because they provide "dignity" for the LGBTQ+ community. "These spaces also enhance feelings of identity, camaraderie, authenticity, and belonging.
