I remember when we were expecting our baby Anaya.
In a single heartbeat, my entire world shifted.
I wasn't just navigating my own life anymore. I was going to be a father. A protector. A provider.
Suddenly, this fierce, primal urge took over. I wanted to build an empire. I wanted to conquer the world just so I could hand it to her.
I started working longer hours. My mind was constantly racing with strategies, revenue goals, and timelines.
I thought that’s what a "real man" was supposed to do, hustle until he bled to secure the future.
But one night, the house was completely still.
I sat on the edge of the bed and placed my hand gently on my wife’s growing belly.
And then, I felt it. A tiny, unmistakable kick against my palm.
In that quiet room, it hit me like a wave.
Anaya, didn't care about an empire. She didn't need me to conquer the world before she arrived.
She just needed me.
She needed her dad to be fully present.
That was the exact moment I realized the greatest provision a father can offer isn’t financial. It’s emotional. It’s time.
To every young dad out there pulling late nights and feeling the heavy pressure to produce:
Build your future, absolutely.
But don't get so caught up in providing a life for them that you forget to live life with them.
The most important empire you will ever build is already sitting inside your living room.
Dads, how did your perspective on the grind change the moment you found out you were having a baby? 👇
