#ThrowbackTuesday to our visit to Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice! 🏥💙 On 30th July 2024, YHW volunteers explored the Hospice, spoke with staff & patients, and shared young people’s perspectives on care. Grateful for the warm welcome & inspiring work they do! 🌿✨ #YoungVoices

Jodie Battrum is a co-production specialist and Health and Wellbeing Champion. Lauren Moody is a clinical research assistant supporting the ELSA study. Katherine Vale is an RN [Child], SCPHN School Nurse, and Clinical Research Facilitator.

Information on the Study: Children aged 3-13 can have a simple finger-stick blood test to determine their risk of developing type 1 diabetes in the future. Currently open to families living in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Young Healthwatch we were joined by Jodie, Lauren and Katherine from Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust @ccs_nhst We discussed ways of engaging young people in the ELSA Study, which screens children for type 1 diabetes in our area @elsadiabetes @NIHRresearch
