@KinkyContango @vtdigger It's not a seizure. Citizens have a mandatory legal obligation to sit for jury duty if called. They can be held in contempt if they don't show up. You wouldn't call it a "seizure" if a person gets a juror summons. This is the same thing.

At a judge’s request, the Grand Isle Sheriff’s Department pulled cars over in front of the North Hero courthouse Thursday. If people were eligible for jury duty, they were sent inside for selection to an upcoming assault trial. buff.ly/4cYqSZY

@KinkyContango @vtdigger Wrong. There was a roadblock to identify potential jurors. If found eligible, they would be ordered onto the selection panel to be vetted further as part of voir dire.

Our office barely escaped the muddy flood waters along RT 5, by less than 1000 ft. We're lucky, but neighboring businesses suffered devastating consequences. We're fully functional, but if coming here, check roads ahead of time and do not drive through flood waters!

@SarahFairVT Why doesn't this article address the fact that prosecutors largely control their caseloads (unlike defense attorneys)? Prosecutors can choose what to charge, and they can send more cases to Diversion.
