She canโt help it.

"Sheesh, there you go again. You talk too much old man. Just say 'no problem'." Pulling back from the handshake, Mako holds her hip and shifts the weight on her heels. She shakes her head as if he's the one she'll be needing to help. Even when she gave an example of a 'better' response, she deepened her voice almost comically to sound like him. Funnily enough, the exchange was already proving he had her interest better than her previous instructors. Although she acts as if she wasn't listening, the delinquent was acutely aware of the sincerity in the man before her. He respected her enough to speak so properly. It was annoying and highlighted the differences between them, but she could appreciate it all the same. Deciding it was a satisfactory first impression with her new Sensei, Mako turned and started to leave. "See ya, Sensei."

@YourMainTeacher Watching as he drove past, Reiko's eyes lit up with wonder. "Oh wow!"

"Apology accepted, Sensei." As if there was really a need for one. She was just testing the waters with this man, inherently suspicious of most adults in her life. Especially authority figures. Why should she trust them, respect them, when they've already decided she's a lost cause without knowing her? Bastards. Her tail flicks in irritation behind her, but not directed towards him. Mako simply had a bad temper. Taking a deep breath, she lets out a quiet sigh and relaxes her posture. With one hand on her hip now, his delinquent new student would extend her free hand towards him. "I'll be in your care, Sensei." He's earned a little respect from Mako. A small inkling of interest. For the simple fact he didn't look or talk to her like she was wasting his time. He regarded her as just another student.
