When a religious symbol is broken… by an Israeli soldier
and then repaired and returned to its place by the same army… what do you understand from that?

Weakness?
Or simply… genuine respect?
This is what our army did in a village in southern Lebanon.
It investigates, holds itself accountable, and fixes its mistakes.
Meanwhile, there are people and groups who destroy churches, kill Christians, and continue without regret or any attempt to make things right…
The difference is clear.
This is how an army with a conscience behaves.
While others destroy, kill, and justify.

A short while ago, in full coordination with the local community of Debel in southern Lebanon, the damaged statue was replaced by IDF troops. The Northern Command worked to coordinate the replacement of the statue from the moment it received the report of the incident.
The IDF expresses deep regret over the incident, and is working to ensure that it does not happen again in the future.
