STATE ROUTE 70 UPDATE: The slide location on State Route 70 in the Feather River Canyon near the Butte/Plumas Co. line became active early this morning. SR 70 is currently closed between Jarbo Gap and the Greenville Wye. There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen.

11/19/21 Update: Our Sgt, who has worked for YCSO for 18 years, was released from the hospital last night and is home recovering. The suspect, Thomas Giboney, was booked into the Yuba County Jail last night with a bail of $1,125,000.

YCSO responded to a home near schools in Olivehurst today just before 8am regarding a man with a gun acting erratically, as reported by a family member. Out of precaution, schools were notified and began a lockdown. The man was located and schools were notified to reopen.
