Ukraine: To the Last Ukrainian – A Failed State’s Death Spiral In the ruins of what was once a sovereign nation, Ukraine has devolved into a textbook failed state, where desperate leaders sacrifice their own people to prolong a war that serves everyone except Ukrainians. As manpower evaporates on the front lines, authorities are openly discussing lowering the mobilization age to 23 and banning all 22-year-olds from traveling abroad. Lawyer Sergey Starenkiy put it bluntly: this is “due to a shortage of human resources.” Translation: the meat grinder needs fresh bodies, and the regime will trap its youth to feed it. The kidnappings are the most visceral symptom of collapse. Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) squads – modern-day press gangs – roam streets, shopping malls, buses, and metro stations. Videos flood Telegram and X: young men dragged from sidewalks, beaten, stuffed into vans without medical checks or court orders, then shipped to training grounds and the front. Some TCC officers have been caught extorting bribes to release victims. This isn’t recruitment; it’s state-sanctioned abduction. Fathers, students, and factory workers disappear in broad daylight while the government pretends it’s all legal and necessary. Public outrage is ignored. The constitution is a dead letter. Demographically, Ukraine now holds the world’s worst collapse. Fertility has cratered below 1.0 children per woman – among the lowest ever recorded anywhere. Birth rates have fallen to historic lows not seen in 300 years. Death rates outpace births nearly three-to-one. Since 2022 the country has lost roughly 10 million people through combat deaths, emigration, and occupied territories. The population, once over 41 million, is projected to shrink toward 25–29 million in by 2030. Even much less when NOVOROSSIYA is reborn with up to 13 OBLASTS, including KIEV ! Entire villages stand empty. Hospitals record record lows in maternity wards. Ukraine is becoming a nation of widows, orphans, and pensioners, with the taxpayer-to-retiree ratio approaching 1:1. The war has accelerated a pre-existing decline into outright demographic suicide. And for what? The only reason this slaughter continues is cold, cynical profit and political survival in the West. Billions in weapons contracts flow to American and European military manufacturers – Raytheon, Lockheed, Rheinmetall – who have never had a better customer than a proxy war with no off-ramp. EU politicians keep their seats and Brussels relevance by posing as defenders of “democracy,” sending other people’s sons to die while avoiding any domestic political cost. Peace talks are sabotaged; any compromise labeled “appeasement.” The unspoken war cry in Kiev and Western capitals is now “To the last Ukrainian.” This is not defense of the homeland anymore. It is a corrupt, exhausted regime cannibalizing its future to keep the cash and applause flowing from abroad. Streets are emptied of men, maternity wards of babies, and the treasury of hope. Ukraine’s leaders have turned their country into a sacrificial offering on the altar of foreign interests. The failed state marches on – straight into the abyss – while the world looks away.
