Received the news yesterday that I've officially been promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer! It's a tad stressful to have the word "senior" associated with any part of your life at my not-so-advanced age, but I'll take it.

B) An academic book is not always the most fun thing to read, but it is a sincere attempt to share new knowledge with the world; this book is the result of almost five years of work thinking and caring about the culture of Christianity and media.

I was recently made aware that my book is finally available in paperback, making it quite a bit more affordable than it was in hardcover. I could post about this self-deprecatingly or sincerely, or, well, both:

Just submitted a host of curriculum changes/course requests in our internal management tool, and I'm always kind of amazed and a little afraid that I have those kinds of responsibilities...despite going to school for almost a decade to accrue precisely those responsibilities.

Restarting "Halt and Catch Fire" (@HaltAMC) - ostensibly it's for research, but it's also just because I absolutely love this show and these characters.

Had a great time presenting this morning at the virtual @UFVAtweets conference on "Teaching Global Cinema Through an Auteur Frame." Loved the feedback and discussion afterwards, very grateful for the professional support and encouragement!

Not looking to jinx anything, but a little under a month and a half into the year and I'm really crushing the writing goals I set for myself. Just finished a draft of a short piece a few days ahead of schedule, already can't wait to jump into th enext project.
