@orengo_james I wish you could start with Siaya. you have a good opportunity to walk the talk. you have a county government to run, if you can't do that, then just go home and continue drinking changaa and dreaming.

Stripping away my security will not stop the work to salvage this country from the KaOngo regime. I will continue to stand with Kenyans as the de facto leader of the ODM Party, because the people demand it.

But I am wondering what Dr. Eng. Siror is saying. Tanzania, Ethiopia have excess Power. Ethiopia can actually supply our entire needs. Tanzania can give 1000 MW. And we are interconnected. It doesn't make sense. This should also be a lesson to Kenyans. There is no planning. We have 2700 MW Firm excluding Imports plus 600MW Renewables ( Wind LTWP 300 MW Kipeto 50 MW plus about 300 MW Solar). We made a mistake in investing too much in Renewables. When you talk of available Power, Renewables are not counted because they are too intermittent. 300MW of Thermal ( likely Gas Turbine will be very expensive Power. In 1997, during President Moi's time, there was a Loan embargo and Kenya could not finance Power Generation. This was supposed to be a temporary measure and was the First IPP. A Barge with a 30MW Gas Turbine moored in Kipevu in an arrangement with Westmont. It is still there though not running. Actually IPPs were supposed to stop once Loans ended. Instead they were enhanced. Why are we even contemplating going there again?

@Obuchunju I don't understand why a Governor who have failed to govern a small county would want to govern Kenya. The only Governor worth talking about is Kangata in Muranga. Orengo should continue enjoying his changaa or is it whiskey? and retire.

James Orengo has downplayed claims of wrangles within the Linda Mwananchi team between him, Sifuna, and Babu Owino, claiming such allegations are being fueled by their opponents. A quick spot check on Babu Owino's X and Facebook handles shows he never wished Sifuna a happy birthday, while Orengo did. Are we being too petty by even checking a mere birthday wish?

@Moha001_Onyango Very true. Look at Trump and his anti-Obama rhetorics on Iran. where is he now with Iran? Pres. Ruto is on right path but need to be tough with fellow politicians and judiciary. Follow example of Kagame.

Senegal is becoming a perfect case study of what happens when revolutionary politics finally meets the realities of governing. It’s easy to unite people against a system. It’s much harder to run the economy, negotiate debt, satisfy voters and still maintain the purity of the movement. A lot of liberation-style movements in Africa struggle once they transition from opposition to government because charisma and slogans eventually collide with budgets, IMF pressure and state institutions. That’s exactly what we’re watching in Senegal right now.

What's happening in Ethiopia that isn't happening in Kenya? Just because isn't being reported doesn't mean isn't happening. The problem in Kenya is that a few Matatu cartels will incite economic sabotage while negotiating for a stake in various petroleum ecosystems.

@bungomaduke are sure its cement? is it not lime? though cement is widely used for soil stabilization it's not necessarily the only one used. the bags you see looking like cement could be lime or other substitutes in the market.

This is a waste if you ask me. Engineers need to figure out an alternative to cement in road construction. So hio barabara ya Rironi Mau Summit tangu ifike Malaba ni how many bags zitakua zimetumika.. this needs to stop. Kwani ni lazima cement itumike. What if barabara zijengwe Bila.

@citizentvkenya before last elections, one clear message the incoming government committed to do was delink military from government projects. This if I recall was repeated many times by especially Duale. the question Sam would do us favor if he tried to find out; what changed? Reality!!

And now they want to convince people the outfit was “symbolic,” that it was some deep revolutionary statement, a Patrice Lumumba inspiration… some bold “FUCK YOU ” to the colonizer. Well then, clearly the rest of us must be too dumb to understand it. Because the correlation between “presence is not submission,” Patrice Lumumba, and dancing in front of the same systems that continue to economically extort Africa is what many of us are struggling to understand. And just so we are clear, during Congo’s independence struggle, Patrice Lumumba did not stutter around colonizers, dance for them, wine and dine with them while calling it strategy. He stood in front of the world, in front of the Belgian King himself, and openly condemned colonialism for what it was. Lumumba spoke about the humiliation, exploitation, land theft, forced labour, racism and violence Congolese people had suffered under Belgian rule. He reminded the world that Congo’s independence was not a gift from Belgium, but a fight won through sacrifice, resistance and blood. That is what defiance looked like🚶🏿‍♀️

@kenyanpundit LED lights are a cornerstone of the green economy because they cut energy use by up to 80–90%, reduce carbon emissions, last far longer than traditional bulbs, and avoid toxic materials like mercury. In Kenya their adoption directly supports sustainability goals - ChatGPT.
