@adamwathan I like the CDN for WordPress, as it requires no work to use the classes written in the WP editor.

@_newtonjob I don't cache anything mission critical. Cleared cache just makes the next request a bit slower for one person.

Learnt the hard way that `cache:clear` should never be part of your deployment script.

@_newtonjob How about user's ID in the database? Or his "role" if that exists (e.g. admin)? Wouldn't that be more reliable, considering that one can be connected to internet from elsewhere?

Want to use your app in prod with debug mode turned on whilst turned off for other users? You can turn on debug mode at runtime based on your IP address. This trick massively helped us better debug an issue, since we can see errors more clearly with queries in the debugbar.

In the future, when the robots take over the world, will there be CAPTCHA challenges "Prove that you are a robot"? 🤔

@freekmurze Note that with n application servers, this is 4 x n emails. On a separate note, I also want to alert you that today scheduled sending of campaigns wasn't working for me. I'd click the button and it would freeze indefinitely. Thanks for doing such a great work for us.

@freekmurze I am a happy v9 user. There is one thing that would be nice to have: I backup to two (e.g. local and Cloudflare R2) and getting a single email with a report on the status of the cleanup and backup of both destinations would be better than 4 emails, one for each.

📦 A little while ago, we released v10 of Laravel Backup This one can dump your database and put it in a zip file together with any files you want. It will copy over that zip to any external storage you want. It can also monitor your backups and alert you if there isn't one after X days.

@vranistanska - Ој зелено, Зеленико, што си толку овенала? Дали те слана осланила или те роса оросила? - Ниту ме слана осланила, ниту ме роса оросила, туку ме мајка армасала за едно момче што не го љубам.

For millennia, humanity has harnessed tools to extend its reach and amplify its power. AI is simply the latest in this lineage—yet unlike the stone axe or the steam engine, it may well be the final tool we ever need, reshaping not only how we work but what it means to be human.

@freekmurze Very interesting package. What do you think Feek, would file caching be faster than Redis? Have you measured different caching stores?

🚀 Just released spatie/laravel-responsecache v8! This package caches entire responses on the server. When the same page is requested again, the cached response is served without hitting your controller at all. Add the CacheResponse middleware, set a duration, done. #laravel

@joetannenbaum @TitasGailius Weird, I keep getting a message "The test run did not record any output." in the "TEST RESULTS" tab in VS Code's terminal when running via the "Testing" sidebar. Running in the terminal "php artisan test" or ".\vendor\bin\pest" works well.

New in v1.6.0 of the official Laravel VS Code Extension: Integration with VS Code's built-in test runner! Tests will now appear in the test explorer sidebar and you can run them right from the command palette. Works with both Pest and PHPUnit 👍 Shout out to @TitasGailius, knocked it outta the park 👏

Writing unit and feature tests is essential yet often neglected; with AI, creating them is easy, leaving no excuse to skip this vital practice which gives your team the confidence and peace of mind that come with deploying new features safely and reliably.
