The setting and background information of the series being Lovecraft/high scifi concepts existed before the game did.
And the OGAS/Parapluie storyline is literally the first arc of the fuckin game, with the Relic conspiracy shit coming to front of the plot within a year of the game releasing.
You cannot reconcile this position lol. You were never a fan of the game, plot, concept, characters etc.

Personally from the trailer alone it seems like a usual empty open world with just some goofy enemies scattered.
I hope I'm wrong and it'll be good, but a TPS concept like this can easily be done wrong.

But I was told the reason the series is unique is because it’s not a slop shooter, especially not a third-person shooter, and because XCOM-style gameplay is so much better.

@Kunitworo I don't think that fear is irrational. It's rooted in seeing the same pattern play out repeatedly. New groups enter a space, push for major changes to the fundamentals, and then vilify anyone who wants to keep it true to the original.

@Kunitworo To a degree I understand your viewpoint. But this isn't a matter of somebody's follower size. On an individual level, if somebody is crazy enough they'll do whatever possible to harass literally anybody.
On a wider community scale, it could influence the media people enjoy.
