Unrelated: How does this man look at himself in the mirror after performing cross-dressing skits for cheap laughs? The whole routine feels tired and stale more puerile spectacle than actual comedy. What might once have passed for harmless slapstick now comes across as little more than a humiliation ritual played out for attention. That is what makes it particularly disappointing. He is clearly an intelligent and articulate man, someone whose natural eloquence already commands a certain level of respect. With that kind of presence, he could easily cultivate a brand of humor built on wit, observation, or social commentary, forms of comedy that endure because they rely on insight rather than gimmickry. Instead, what we see is a retreat into a kind of archaic clownery that leans heavily on caricature and exaggerated self-debasement. It feels less like creative expression and more like clout-chasing through the lowest common denominator. The irony is that the very qualities that make him compelling, i.e, his voice, composure, and intellect are precisely the things that get buried under the costume and theatrics. Comedy can be bold, irreverent, and even absurd without diminishing the person performing it. But when the act relies primarily on self-mockery and spectacle, it risks reducing a capable performer to a novelty. One cannot help but feel that his talent is capable of much more than this.
