Ramadan is meant to bring families together. 🌙🤲 But for many Syrian @Refugees in @ZaatariCamp, loved ones are separated, with some having returned to Syria, while others remain in Jordan, turning this month of connection into a month of longing. 💛

It is now 15 years since the Syria crisis began. And though the country is on the path to recovery, its consequences are still felt widely, with millions still displaced. I honor their strength and the patience of their hosts. Their resilience deserves continued support.

For the third year in a row, the Iftar initiative continues in #ZaatariCamp this Ramadan 🌙✨ 40 Syrian volunteers, men and women 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳, collect food 🥘, cook meals 🍲, and distribute them to families in need 🤝❤️ A true community effort: from the community to the community 🫶

Ramadan traditions continue in the bustling market streets of Azraq and Zaatari refugee camps, where tamarind juice is sold as a refreshing staple for iftar. 🌙🥤

From Syria to Za’atari Camp, their brotherhood never faded ❤️ “For 35 years, Khaled “left” has been my comfort and strength,” says Samer, through every Ramadan, in every place. This month, they sit and remember Ramadan in Syria, the warmth of home 🌙✨

Mohammad Al-Hariri, 23, learned to make Qatayef in his relatives’ shop and never stopped. 🌙 “Qatayef is the sweet everyone waits for in Ramadan. I hope next Ramadan I’ll be in Syria, and I’ll open my own shop.”

During a mission to Jordan of the Director-General of WHO, @DrTedros, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, mental health was a major issue of discussion. Mental health is nurtured and promoted when streamlined in simple activities such as sports, art and music.

We were honoured to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, to @ZaatariCamp. They met young @refugees at @Questscope's youth centre and joined children in football, art, and music - an uplifting moment for the refugee community. #WithRefugees

Grateful for the opportunity to present the complex realities facing @Refugees in #Jordan to H.E. Frank‑Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the First Lady today. Germany’s support to Jordan and to the refugees it hosts is greatly appreciated.
