48% of Maine households own a gun. Imagine if Dems ran a candidate who said his party is wrong on guns & that gun control should come out of the platform? THAT might get some working class votes.

No matter how this shakes out, the structural lesson remains: in a matter of months, an unknown outsider absolutely housed a proven, popular sitting Governor in a primary. Voters (Ds, Rs, and Is) want something different. A lesson overlooked at our own peril.
