@ZacSmall_ I wouldn’t and that’s why is specified the “why” I’m talking about them questions authority not a general “why”. Sounds like you may have had some abuse growing up… that stinks and could see why you ask the question

@ZacSmall_ Hot coals is an example of something that could cause pain. Unessesary pain. Just an analogy.
English

@ZacSmall_ Hit is the wrong word there. Disciplined is, Ex. They grab a coal out of fire that’s not hot, next time it could hurt them way worse. If there’s not a little pain you do it again. I can count of my hands how many times we had to discipline the kids that way.

It’s true;
Spouse, then kids.
🍂@Lovandfear
Your kids should not be the most important in the family.
English

@Lovandfear True
If they are placed above your spouse, the love and attraction dies, then the home becomes unstable.
English

@ZacSmall_ Nope. 2 mid 20yr olds, Smacked when they asked “why” when I told them to do something. They grew up in church.
Both were college athletes, graduated in 4yrs and both have great jobs, own their own homes when their peers are crying about not being able to afford homes now.

Sobriety brings clarity.
Sometimes that clarity is recognizing where the pain that drives your destructive behaviors stems from.
Often times, that recognition brings you to the doorstep of a person.
And it’s that door you have to open, and that conversation you have to have, and that, is one of the hardest parts of getting sober; it’s not dropping the alcohol or awkward hangouts where you’re the only one not drinking…
It’s saying the hard, hurtful to hear, painful to say words, but nonetheless they must be said.
For anyone out there dealing with addiction, you’ve got to get sober to reach the clarity to address what’s causing the pain.

@MtnMommaljh That means a lot, thank you.
I have a daughter, 13, and I mean it with as much sincerity as you can accept from a stranger on Twitter that I hope her memory lives on forever to bring light to your family's hearts and souls.

@ZacSmall_ Thank you. I appreciate you asking about her, knowing it could have gone either way.
She would LOVE your braids and headband!

I’d had the goal of donating my hair since I was a kid
I always had barbers telling me it was more like “fur” than hair.
It annoyed me until I learned about alopecia and hair loss due to cancer treatments.
Well, I’m 39 and realized, no girl is going to want gray hair, and I don’t want them to have to dye it, so it’s now or never.
I’ve been growing it out for a few months now, and have a year+ still to go to get to a healthy donation level.
This is the first time my wife could get the braids to really stay, and I’m almost at the “man bun” status.
People talk shit and make comments, I don’t give a fuck.
My response has become, “Tell that to the girl I’m donating this to.”
Tell her that I look weird, tell her my hair is ridiculous, or tell her this is unprofessional.
Whenever I am annoyed by what comes with long hair, I remember who I am doing this for, and what they are going through, and I carry on.
It’s a life goal that I’m happy to know is coming to fruition.

@ZacSmall_ She passed in January of 2017 after 5 years of fighting. She was a really incredible kid - taught us all how to really see people and sit with them in the ashes.
