Today, I write about the Nigerian Soldier🪖
Not the headlines. Not the politics. Just the soldiers.
While you’re arguing on X, someone is trekking through a forest with 30kg on his back, sweating like his life depends on it because it actually does. While you’re asleep, someone is awake in a cold, silent bush, listening for one wrong sound.
Funny thing? Most of them don’t even complain. Their biggest flex is “I’m fine” even when they’re far from home, missing weddings, birthdays, and the simple joy of sitting in traffic with the rest of us.
The Nigerian soldier is a different breed. Half warrior, half comedian.
Give them one small chance, they’ll crack jokes in the middle of hardship like: “Guy, if we survive this one, na suya and chilled kunu I go buy for you.”
And somehow… they always mean it.
They fight enemies you’ll never see, in places Google Maps won’t even bother naming. From the heat of the North-East, to forgotten corners of this country, they stand in the gap so the rest of us can argue about WiFi and fuel prices in peace.
Are they perfect? No. But show me who is.
What they are… is present. What they are… is resilient. What they are… is sacrifice in human form.
And yet… many civilians see none of this.
Some hate them. Some misunderstand them.
The media writes trash, and when a soldier is gunned down like a chicken, some people even celebrate.
That one hurts.
Because behind the uniform is a human being. Someone’s son. Someone’s brother. Someone’s future.
They are not the enemy. They are the guardians.
So next time a soldier is seen, look beyond the uniform.
Respect the sacrifice. Understand the silence.
&
Thank a soldier today.
Pray for a soldier always.
Because Loving Nigeria is one thing… choosing to stand for her, every single day, is another. 🇳🇬

@Elkrosmediahub This is when Chinua Achebe's quote comes to live.
"When a rich man is sick, the poor man pays him a visit but when a poor man is sick, the poor man recovers and then go tell the rich man that he has been sick"

@OzorNdiOzor Why wasn’t reinforcement sent?
If it's true he did a right thing that a good leader will do
Retreat is wisdom. if not Something is wrong somewhere we need the full story before u can judge

Major Shamsudeen Sani, who has been serving with the army in the Northeast for several months, has been detained and denied the right to see his two wives and his children.
The only “crime” he committed was withdrawing his soldiers from the battlefield at a time when he had urgently requested reinforcement troops and emergency equipment but received none while they were locked in combat with ISWAP fighters and he ordered his men to pull back after realizing the enemy was about to overpower them.
What is your opinion about him

Django is not just crazy, it is powerful on the backend. 🙂 I literally built an orchestrator for my python scripts and now I can schedule and execute them at will, with a decent dashboard to tell anyone what’s going on in the background. Comes with full logs of all events too. I say powerful because I didn’t have to worry about user authentication or database setup and modelling , all that is taken care of in Django, just write your models, your views and link them with urls and templates.
