The warming trend will continue into the weekend. Rain chances will return on Sunday, but most areas will stay dry. Here is the weekend forecast!

Strong to severe storms are possible Monday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main hazards.

Isolated flash flooding will remain possible through Sunday evening.

Any showers currently ongoing will taper off later this evening. The forecast looks dry and cooler heading into Sunday morning. Chances for rain will return Sunday afternoon with a low Flash Flood threat.

We are WEATHER AWARE for Friday night through Saturday morning for flood potential. Expect areas of heavy rain especially late tonight.

Tonight is looking dry; however, late Friday into the upcoming weekend looks active with more chances for rain and storms. The Flash Flood potential will return during this time.

12:31 AM EDT: Here is a quick radar update. We were tracking strong to severe storms to our southwest. They are on a weakening trend; however, a few strong storms can't be ruled out tonight especially across the Cumberland Plateau.

@ZachGilday Hey man, I got some crazy shots from my house. One briefly touched down and threw some branches in Gibbs.

Check out this video of a supercell thunderstorm, taken from our Knoxville Embassy Suites Camera, that potentially produced a tornado in Claiborne County. We will know more after a damage assessment.

#NWSMorristown has confirmed an EF-0 #tornado impacted New Tazewell yesterday evening. The tornado touched down 1.5 miles SSW of New Tazewell at 6:58 p.m. and lifted as it crossed Highway 33 in New Tazewell at 7:02 p.m.

Thunderstorm chances will return to East Tennessee on Friday. A few could be severe with damaging winds and a low end tornado threat. Stay tuned for more information.
