You are seeing in real time why Trump companies went bankrupt so many times. Set aside your politics. This guy is incapable of making a deal or meaningful decision and it follows the same cycle. Big flashy announcement (Epic Fury). Adversity hits (Hormuz closed). Defraud stakeholders (promise two week solution). Freeze up (endless two week cycle loop). Compound the problem (resource depletion). Final chance to save face rejected (what you’re seeing now). Bankruptcy strikes and blame others during chaos. Rinse repeat.

Thomas Massie says he will publicly read the names of the Epstein clients before his time in Congress comes to an end. Massie says there will be no high-level arrests as long as Todd Blanche and Kash Patel work for the United States government. Massie says Melania Trump knows the truth about Epstein not acting alone. "Todd Blanche is violating the law."

In other words, the war is over, we're stumbling toward some version of the JCPOA, America is out billions of dollars and lots of weapons that we didn't need to waste, and the United States is now weaker and Iran in a strategically stronger position. And for what?

So Trumps war against Iran resulted in the tragic loss of life, billions burned in weapons used, billions and billions in economic losses worldwide to achieve the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which of course was open before the war? Really? I hope there’s more to this story.

If President Trump agrees to a 60-day ceasefire extension based on vague Iranian promises to “discuss” nuclear issues, it’s game over. That pushes the crisis into late July or early August, when major military operations become far less likely ahead of the midterms. Once the military leverage disappears, meaningful nuclear concessions disappear with it. Ballistic missile restrictions will be nonexistent. Iran will get billions in sanctions relief—while repeatedly using Hormuz as a tool of blackmail. Tehran will have won at the negotiating table what it lost on the battlefield.

It’s worth noting that when Jan. 6 happened, the pro-Trump right used dozens of conspiracy theories to try and offload blame from themselves—e.g., claiming it was “antifa,” “feds.” Now, they seem keen to just admit they did it—all of it—and it was good.

Look, it’s really simple. I find all this fake news jawboning amusing because if the oil math was off, they don’t need to do any of it. The more desperate they are, the more I am convinced that the math is right. It is what it is.

it was caused not only by Russia's war on Ukraine, but also the timing of the "official" reopening of the US economy- mask mandate was repealed and everyone immediately started booking travel/summer plans- demand surged when refining capacity was still shut down due to Covid
Brian Rittmeyer@BCRittmeyer

@GasBuddyGuy Question: Many point to 2022. That spike was caused by the start of Russia's war on Ukraine. But what was the duration of that spike, and how much did it cost drivers compared to what is happening now and is ongoing at this time?

More and more people across the country are waking up to the Trump con. Thomas from Hawaii, a three-time Trump voter: “I regret my support for him, and I should’ve known better. He’s making it plain as day. He’s a con man, a liar, doesn’t keep his promises. He’s in office all for himself, and he doesn’t even try to hide his corruption anymore. And now I understand how somebody like Adolf Hitler was able to brainwash millions of people.”

Late stage democracy. I noticed its unmistakable signs in 2015 when evangelical Christians flocked to Trump as their savior - not because he was family values man, or pro-life or had ever read a bible he wasn’t selling. When a people sacrifice principle for power it’s over 🧵

I engage with hundreds of Trump voters every day. Been doing it for 7-8yrs. I often hear a similar take from the ones who finally do wake up & break from Trump. It’s the lies. When they finally realize that he’s been lying to them every day, some will say “that’s it, I’m done.”👇
Rachel Bitecofer 🗽🦆@RachelBitecofer

Q: What was it that made you break with Trump? Trump voter: Just seeing the lies. He put us in a war. He's putting up gold statues of himself. When are people going to wake up? All those stupid rallies I went to... I got rid of my Make America Great Again hat. I can't even believe I wore that hat.

Trump helped turn the Strait of Hormuz into a global crisis—and now he’s looking to China to help bail us out. Think about how that makes us look to the rest of the world.
