Someone should make a crosswalk of every possible county spelling to FIPS code. I guarantee you could make $10 a download for a dataset that matches "St. John's County", "St Johns County", "Saint John's County", "Saint Johns County", etc to 12109.

@C__Kronenberg Oh there are many other unique cases. Look at a list of Alaskan boroughs and Louisiana Parishes for example. “East” to “E.” etc.
