This is not a shot at Dejounte at all but I see a lot of “the Hawks got worse in the short term” reactions and I want to push back on that. Again… they were pretty bad in the minutes they shared together this year. Just having better fitting pieces (while they might be worse in a vacuum) might have a positive impact. The only big concern to me is back to “what if Trae gets injured?” Because in those situations it was very helpful to have someone like Dejounte Can they rely on Jalen to step up in those situations? Is there another move coming? We’ll see.

@BTRowland Given this is what our salary distribution is the next couple of years. Do you think the team thinks with their wallet and deals Trae just to ensure financial flexibility knowing we aren’t winning a championship with this roster in the next two years?

i don't know who needs to hear this but the hawks are solidly over the luxury tax right now (~$176M for 13 players) with NOTHING for saddiq bey or vit krejci if they follow recent history and don't want to pay it, they have to cut considerable salary to duck under

@BTRowland After sitting with it overnight, watching more tape and analysis by people who do this far more than I do, I think we got a good one. We need basically everything he can bring and regardless of who’s on the team can be useful. That’s valuable in the mire that is the ATL Hawks.
