@FmrTankCommandr For sure. No matter how we break it down, this is arguably the biggest offseason they’ve had post-Dwight. Can shape the next five years.
Weltman has done the same thing he did in Toronto. Compiled talent, helped the team get to where they’re a perennial playoff team, but can’t get them over the hump. It’s time for that new voice to come in, and see if they can piece it all together.
@FmrTankCommandr That’s the other part of it too, right. A new coach who can establish an actual offense maybe makes the roster look more cohesive. Just think that the flaws that certain players have may stand too bright still, potentially.
@FmrTankCommandr I don’t fully disagree with that. I just think at some point you have to look at the full body of work, and make a decision on if he can be the one to build a whole roster, and not just get guys who are good at a few things.
Big offseason now. Lot of big decisions loom. Prolly need to clean house, brunt in new basketball ops, bring in a new coach. Have to find someone to build a coherent roster around the pieces you want to keep.
@FmrTankCommandr@Jarebear81787@JFootlongNBA Exactly, and even with that, what does he have to adjust? Noah Penda doesn’t change the series. Jett Howard doesn’t. Hard to make a ton of adjustments when there isn’t anything there to really use to adjust.
The #Magic were doubled up on free throws (8 attempts to 16), lost the offensive glass 6-4 (and 13-8 on second-chance points).
Series has been all about physical dominance. The #Magic lost that since Game 5. It's not complicated.

@FmrTankCommandr@Jarebear81787@JFootlongNBA They lost their most impactful player on both ends of the floor, and it shows. Just like it showed for the majority of the regular season.
@Jarebear81787@JFootlongNBA What happened when it was 3-1? You know the answer so why be stupid about it? And I don't disagree, but let's not act like we don't know what it was.
Like, yeah Suggs and WCJ are your high paid role players and they need to be better. But boy 4/20 and 7/18 (+DNP) seems like a bigger problem. Particularly when the team craters when WCJ or Suggs aren't on the floor.
@FmrTankCommandr I’ll say this… not really sure what they’ll really be able to do this summer to address some of the depth issues, unless one of the contracts is offloaded.
@FmrTankCommandr Yup, sure did. Will prolly somehow be the Wednesday version again on Sunday or some dumb shit. Lack of depth is rearing its ugly head, though.
