I can relate to this. I used to have a ecom client that would routinely send me Claude’s suggestions for SEO. They were absolutely terrible. I remember one time, it spun up around 4,000 words of content and suggested placing it on a Product Category page. Like, WTF? I essentially told the client that we knew what we were doing and that we didn’t need Claude to guide us. And our results were great. We 2-3x’ed organic traffic to Product and Product Category pages in 6-months. The client was happy with the results, but he thought he could achieve similar results with the help of AI. So he fired me. It’s been a few months now, and traffic is already starting to decline. Claude just isn’t that good at SEO. Sure, if you’re an SEO expert and you’re doing the prompts, connecting it to the right API’s, and checking its work, Claude can definitely expedite the SEO process. But if you’re a business owner who’s clueless about SEO, and blindly using Claude so you can save a buck…. It’s going to be a disaster.
