Web3 Gaming Isn't Dead, The Standard for Games and Studios Just Got Higher. This week we’ve seen more web3 games shut down Pixel Heroes, Xociety, 77 Bit… I’m not here to break down why they failed. That’s not the conversation today. What I do want people to focus on are the games still standing. What are they actually doing? How active and engaged are their communities? Are the games thriving, doing okay or barely surviving? Are there any red flags? And most importantly: Is the studio capable of delivering on what they promised? Because the truth is, we’re going to see even more shutdowns. At the same time, a handful of games are going to pull ahead and dominate. Gamers want quality. If the quality is bad, they'll move on to the next best thing. Gone are the days when you could just build a mid-game and expect it to blow up. That shit only flew in web3 because of all the other aspects tied to it. The standard has risen. Only the best will succeed. Traditional gaming industry has always been like this

The $150B in-game economy still runs through platforms taking 30% on every mobile transaction. Web3 payments infra will do this for <1%. If you think public companies aren't motivated to use web3 think again; only a matter of time.

Another web3 game bites the dust. Feels like a lot of teams are just too ambitious without real game dev experience. Which is exactly why I don’t just go out and make a web3 game myself. why don’t we see more teams start small and build up instead? scam… or just overreaching?
