AI doesn't need to replace all jobs to create a major social impact. In the United States, the current unemployment rate is around 4%, which is fairly typical given long-term trends. Suppose AI displaces an additional 4% of jobs. Now the unemployment rate has doubled. An 8% unemployment rate is enough to cause significant social unrest. Note that the unemployment rate rarely exceeds 7.5% except during periods of meaningful economic duress. Now, concrete data from the "Remote Labor Index" (a really cool study you should check out, link in reply) has shown that around 3% of remote work can be fully automated. Also, consider the MIT study where 5% of AI adoption is businesses failed. The headline numbers are "95% of AI adoption failed" But these kinds of claims, like "AI fails 95/97% of the time," disguise the fact that 3% is extremely disruptive and is already comparable to the unemployment rate. Compare the claim "97% of hot dogs are safe to eat" with "3% of hot dogs are poisoned." The headline obfuscates critical information. A lot of "AI layoffs" are not really due to AI. I think everyone knows this. But AI only needs to work 3% of the time to be massively disruptive, and I think that is what we are seeing currently.

I can semi-understand the RPC provider thing. A lot of people are going to be on the free tier of the RPC, and it helps with chain adoption. However, I agree with the overall arc of this. Companies have been making a killing by charging a lot of money for brand, and I think now that money is more scarce, companies are pushing back on it, which is healthy.

Some more mafia payments that your chain will encounter. RPC integrations - Alchemy integration $750k/year - Quicknode $500k/year Other - LayerZero $375k one time) -Hyperlane $50k/year - Chainlink $12M/3 years ($4M/year) I especially dislike RPC providers charging chains, because I am already paying for them as a customer. It's double-dipping.

If you think you can "follow a roadmap" and get a well-paying "entry-level job" in Web3, you are smoking crack. People with actual TVL experience and audit contest wins still have to fight hard to get a job nowadays. You do not stand a chance with a blank sheet of accomplishments in web3. Genuinely: if you are looking for a quick buck -- crypto is not it anymore. It's not that I don't want you to become a smart contract engineer or auditor. I just want you to know what you are up against and make an informed decision.

@gtmom "Teacher in front of classroom" is going to go down in history the same way "doctors recommend smoking" or "lead in paint/pipes" did.

What people are missing is that Alpha's ~AI~ learning apps don't even have to be THAT good in order to reliably swamp what conventional teacher-in-front-of-the-class instruction is able to do. Apps-based instruction provides the right level of difficulty at most times. This is simply not true of the classroom environment. Whether students are behind, ahead, or even theoretically "on grade level" but with various holes in background knowledge... most classroom time is DOA in terms of producing standardized test-verifiable learning outcomes because it's just not the right material. Ok so the apps are buggy sometimes, we have a lively Slack channel where guides communicate with tech support (regular schools use buggy apps too...) Some of the lessons are not perfect, they require improvement (so do most regular teachers' lessons...) We know. We're on it. We're giving every student the meaningful ability to learn something new every single day. Does your school do that?
