Speaking to 5Pillars, independent Muslim MP Iqbal Mohamed has warned Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party, against splitting the vote in constituencies where pro-Palestine independents are favourites as it could gift Labour or Reform avoidable wins. The Greens have faced criticism in the past over their failure to form electoral pacts with other anti-Labour forces. In the GE 2025, Palestinian independent Leanne Mohammed missed out on her chance to oust Labour's Wes Streeting in East London in large part due to the Green candidate running in the area, splitting the left-wing vote.

We asked our readers and viewers how they plan to vote in the upcoming May 7th local elections. The largest share, 47%, said they would vote for independent parties, while 27% said they planned to abstain. Only 18 people — 2% of voters — said they would be voting for Labour.

The United Arab Emirates, our strategic ally, has just been attacked by Iran. This is, in effect, a declaration of the renewal of Iran’s war against the allies of the United States and Israel across the region. This regional alliance is vital to our security and to the security of the moderate partners in the Middle East and the Gulf. I don’t think the next pro-Palestine march should be banned. I think it should be policed and scrutinised to within an inch of its life. I think there should be an overwhelming police presence, call in the army if need be. And any fucker or group that chants for the death of Jews or jihad or supports Hamas or any terrorist group, holds up an antisemitic placard or anything that could be considered incitement or breaking the law including holding a flag of the Iranian regime or the Ayatollah if the IRGC are proscribed in time, the police get straight in there and pull them out and detain or at the very least get their details and collect evidence to see if a crime has been committed and they can be prosecuted. And anyone who tries to stop them is immediately arrested for interference. At the end that’ll leave about three people. And let’s see how many people turn up to the next one if they know they’ll now be held accountable for their incitement to violence. It’ll then be very clear that these marches were never about calling for peace for Palestinians, otherwise there would be peace signs and condemnations of Hamas, they were always just an excuse for Jew haters to gather and spread their bigotry.
