I am shrouded in profound sadness by the abrupt passing of Benoit Pagotto @benit0it. I have very few friends—actually, almost none. But RTFKT’s @RTFKT Benoit, whom I first met online during the pandemic, was one of the rare beings who made me think, “Ah! This person might be my friend!” From his ideas with no limits to his drive and ability to take action, he was simply unparalleled. And above all, his kindness! When my family visited Paris and my son was feeling down, Benoit kindly spent a few days with him, showing him around the city and playing games together. His compassion was truly beyond measure. ∞! Benoit! Let us meet again someday!! Because I do believe in the next world beyond!! Until then, rest in peace, my friend. 🙏

just found this banger picture. that day, in Paris, we just had finished eating in a restaurant but they were out of tiramisu. tiramisu is my ultimate favorite. and @benitopagotto , being who he is, wanted me to be fulfilled so he just googled which place had the best tiramisu around, CALLED THEM and made them believe that i was a professional tiramisu connoisseur from italy when we arrived, the chef and waiters were literally waiting for my notes and we couldn’t stop laughing 😂 he was a pure legend, we were sharing the same love of making absolutely insanely weird situations

Today I lost my good friend Ben. He was truly a visionary and I loved every second of the creative chaos we shared over the last 10 years. I can’t believe that just a few days ago I was hearing you laugh not knowing that that it would be our last time together. You dreamed big and often saw things before anyone could even understand them. You fought for those you cared for and saw potential in people that many would overlook. I will miss you very much. Thank you for all the memories, the jokes, the belly laughs, and for always being you. Forever a legend 🖤

Benoit was one of the kindest, funniest people I met in crypto. Reached out when we were nobodies, just offering advice and seeing how he could help. You got the feeling he was that way with everyone. And when things took off for us, he was always the same. Not transactional, not a little parasite. Just wanted to make cool things. I wish that wasn’t so painfully rare here, but it is. Any time I was in Paris for work, no matter what else he had going on, he’d make time to hang and share war stories. He knew better than most how absurd this space could be. Will miss his big, boisterous laugh you could hear from across a restaurant. Heartbroken for his family.

since the cat is out of the box, today i've lost a friend of over 8 years. @benitopagotto was, with @benJhoffner, the closest friend i ever had over such a long period. he was my perfect grumpy parisian cliché on top of being an absolute asshole and genius who just said everything he thought of, without filters, not giving any f*cks about offending, as soon as the truth was said. he was just a unique human being, no one will ever replace him. this dude was literally raising crows out of his apartment windows! rtfkt was a glimpse in the timeline of memories of we have together. the unique jokes we've shared. sometimes we were mad at each other, but we only have love and respect for one another. i can't believe i will never hear your voice again, laugh with you, criticize shit with you, ... i will miss you forever and ever. thank you for everything. i hope you respawn as a badass mean crow! 🐦‍⬛🩷
