Childcare in Scotland is pricing parents, especially women, out of work. A Childcare Guarantee capping costs at 5% of income would change that: fairer for families, better for kids, key to ending child poverty & a step towards universal free childcare.

@AFaulds Just something I find irksome about a direct relationship with Scot Gov for one of the most privileged catchments that now happens to be top of ‘league tables’ (that don’t tell much other than the lack deprivation. Doesn’t quite chime with focus on poverty related attainment

In the weeds here, but can anyone please explain the c£8m budget line for Jordanhill School? 15% increase on last years budget. School in one of Glasgow’s most privileged areas. Perplexed by this line every year, & still don’t fully understand why the model remains? #ScotBudget

Budget Statement has decent sentiment & principles of a ‘cash first’ approach to those most in need, whilst increasing tax burdens for the wealthiest are welcome. But Council Tax freeze has undermined the whole thing & opportunity to reform wealth distribution missed #ScotBudget
