Yeah eternal introduces enemies and gives you an example of how to deal with them, it's your own creativity and expression that determines how you use that information

@ZazMan117 @lickofcow but saying it takes a ton of effort to make it feel good is wild. I'd say the boss and enemies being kinda shallow is an understandable thought, but Eternal is even worse on that front, at least as far as I got. Do you really hate animation locks without I-frames?

@Dan4Neo @lickofcow @DiggyDigsIt Positioning, enemy interactions, physics, and enemy manipulation aren't niche mechanics, they're central to action games and specifically CAG games. There's a reason why DMC4s enemy roster is so good. Playing well is a result of deep mechanical interdependencies and execution.

@Dan4Neo @lickofcow @DiggyDigsIt Also, things like inertia from DMC4 isn't niche, it's always been well known to people who actually played DMC4, and has been used to inform play styles, set up interactions and make for expressive combat for almost 2 decades. It's only niche to tourists.

@Dan4Neo @lickofcow @DiggyDigsIt Meanwhile, DMC5 is excessively slow and incredibly braindead. It's borderline unbearable how slow, floaty and sluggish that game is in vanilla. The smallest actions, start up strings or basic BnBs from other entries take business days to complete
