MAGDUMPING 3000 ROUNDS FOR THE JEWS - a strange story of history. Back in the day, before the Remington buyout, DPMS often sold huge quantities of rifle magazines to the IDF. The IDF had QA demands for their equipment and demanded a test firing of 100 magazines selected by them at random from the pallets (this was an order for 30,000 magazines). They then requested that each mag be loaded to 30 rounds prior to testing. Then they stated that each mag must be full auto dumped in 3 separate 10 round bursts, and that the magazine needs to be dropped freely into the hand. 100 times. They allowed for a handful of failures of course, but they didn't tell you how many. So if you were selected as the guy to mag dump, you probably felt a little nervous knowing that the sale was on your shoulders. To avoid melt downs multiple upper receivers were used and cycled through every couple of magazines. All the while the IDF representatives sat and watched the test guy shoot, drop the mag, and swap uppers. It took a long time. By the time the test firing guy was done, he had a visible layer of soot around his eyepro, like in a cartoon. As far as I know every time it happened, the sale was made. The test firing happened at their old Del-Tone firing range for years before moving to an indoor range for some awful reason. I don't know if the IDF still procures magazines from the US like this any more but I think it's a weird anecdote of history worth sharing. 3000 rounds is pretty wild. That's more than a lot of guys ever do in their entire lifetimes.
